  • The Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN) provides care for more than 400,000 people living in the northern metropolitan area of Adelaide and boasts newly redeveloped wards and Emergency and Outpatient Departments, with plans for the addition of more brand-new facilities in the near future. NALHN provides a full range of high-quality medical, surgical, maternity, diagnostic, emergency and support services. NALHN offers a range of primary health care services across the northern metropolitan area of Adelaide, with a focus on providing preventive and health promoting programs in the community, and transition and hospital substitution and avoidance programs targeted at chronic disease and frail aged. Our 400-plus Allied Health professionals play an integral role in multidisciplinary teams delivering exceptional care to patients across our acute, subacute and hospital avoidance services.

    An exciting opportunity exists to join NALHN within their highly skilled Aged Care, Rehabilitation and Palliative Care team. In this key position you will demonstrate your experience and previous success working as an Occupational Therapist to ensure high quality care is delivered to our consumers.

    The Northern Adelaide Rehabilitation Service (NARS) provides:

  • Inpatient Rehabilitation - 52 beds Modbury Hospital
  • Rehabilitation in the Home (RITH) - 30 virtual community ‘beds’
  • Day Rehabilitation Service (DRS)
  • Northern Adelaide Pain Rehabilitation Service
  • Specialist outpatient clinics (including spasticity clinics, driving assessment, orthotics/ prosthetics clinics, and hydrotherapy)
  • The Occupational Therapist is accountable to the Senior Manager NARS for the provision assessment and treatment services for inpatients and outpatients of NALHN which aims to optimise health outcomes. In this role you will rotate through a series of clinical services.

    As an Occupational Therapist you will apply clinical experience, increasing clinical knowledge and professional competence to plan, implement and evaluate comprehensive and integrated services to the needs of clients of NALHN. You will work under limited direct clinical supervision and may provide direction and support to less experience therapists, allied health assistants and students.

    To be eligible for this position you must hold an appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
