The following permanent employment opportunity exists at the SANSA Hartbeeshoek site situated in  Hartebeesthoek, Gauteng. The position and location might change in the future based on the business need. This vacancy needsto be filled by an individual with the relevant experience, skills, drive, and qualifications who puts the interests of the nation first, has a commercial mindset, thinks as our customers, knowledge-driven and people-centric.

The candidate will be responsible to organise, manage, control, and coordinate the supply chain management function for SANSA Space Operations including demand, acquisition, logistics, performance, and risk management for tenders. 

The successful candidate will:

Conduct supplier market and industry analysis.
Continually research new vendors and products to obtain best-value purchasing for SANSA
Demand management (procurement plans/budget)
Procurement of goods and services through tenders and RFQs
Support and guide end users in the preparation of specifications and conduct market research where necessary to ensure the specification criteria are adequate/clear
Negotiate with suppliers 
Verify suppliers to confirm registration on the central supply database (CSD)
Capture suppliers on the ERP system
Create purchase orders (POs) and send out the POs to suppliers
Attend BAC (where necessary) and chair the BSC and BEC committees
Liaise with suppliers with regards to any procurement queries and issues
Manage procurement in a manner that all relevant legislation including but not limited to the PFMA, the Preferential Procurement regulations, National Treasury Guidelines, policies and procedures are adhered to (including market research, turnaround times etc.)
Retain and file procurement documentation to support the audit and the audit trail
Work towards clean audits and ensure no irregular expenditures by business units in the procurement process
Contract management
Supplier and Enterprise development in line with BBBEE
Support the SCM team as required in the procurement of products and services below R1 million.

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

A three-year National Diploma/ bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Purchasing, Procurement, Commercial or related qualification.
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Tenders and RFQs as a Supply Chain Management Practitioner or similar role.
Procurement experience in a technical environment at a State-Owned entity or commercial industry.
Knowledge of: Applicable legislative and regulatory framework, PFMA, PPPFA, CIDB, BBBEE, Treasury regulations, guidelines, practice notes, circulars, policy framework, and guide to accounting officers and authorities.
The ability to interact at all levels, excellent computer skills in MS Office, professionalism to handle sensitive/ confidential information discreetly, the ability to take initiative, and good problem-solving skills.
Numerical, reasoning, and negotiation skills.
Sage procurement experience.
Valid driver’s license
