Description
What you do matters
Caring for the elderly matters. Every day, you touch the lives of those you care for and their families. And, along the way, cherish small moments and celebrate life stories.
At the same time, you need a team that cares for you. Part-time hours, regular shifts, or flexible work hours that suit your other commitments like study, grandchildren, or school drop-offs might be important. You need support to do your best - at work and home.
What matters to us
It’s the reason you are here, the stories you have to tell, and the possibilities we can create together that matter. Whether you're just starting out, still studying a support qualification or an experienced personal carer. We're here to support you.
Our values are also important to us. So, we always respect freedom of expression, act with integrity, include others, and bring energy and passion to our work.
Community Care
Caring for the elderly in their homes allows you to spend time one–on–one with clients. You might pop in to help with personal care or home duties in the morning or evening. Or keep them connected to their community through activities they love - like walking, gardening, going out for a coffee or lunch, and transporting them to appointments.
A typical home visit is on a weekday for 1 - 3 hours with 2-4 clients a day, depending on your available hours and days. When you first start, you’ll need to commit to a minimum of 10-15 hours per fortnight. How much you work will grow depending on your flexibility and client demands.
Why work for us?
Not sure what salary packaging is? Put simply - an agreed portion of your pay is packaged up before tax to give you a bit more take-home pay. Conditions apply - but don't worry, we use a partner to guide you through this.
Why we care
For more than 70 years, we have been in the community helping the elderly live their best lives. Today we have 1700+ staff and volunteers and offer residential (aged care), community health and home care, respite, and retirement living options.
We have over 1000 personal carers working across Victoria - from Gippsland to Melbourne, The Macedon Ranges, Bendigo, Shepparton, and Horsham. We offer specialised care and expertise in dementia, palliative, and culturally appropriate care for people from non-English speaking backgrounds.
What we look for
We will ask you to supply a recent police check or NDIS screen, proof of vaccinations, and evidence of qualifications. Don’t worry, we’ll only ask you for these when we need them.

We are growing and want you to grow with us. Our elders are more than just their age. They are our historians, storytellers, comedians, parents, siblings, and friends. And, they deserve the best carer possible – you.
