**Area Business Leader, Key Account Management**

About the role:

The Area Business Leader, Key Account Management (KAM) is responsible for leading and developing business in large centralized accounts, as well as coaching the KAM team in account planning and tactical execution for Strategic, Key, and Foundational accounts across the US Travel Vaccines portfolio. This role includes establishing and managing relationships with key customers (i.e., National retail pharmacy, IDN's, DoD, Passport Health) and internal stakeholders; while also managing the Area business operations (e.g. policies/procedures, budgets, sales and account data, etc.).

How you will contribute:

+ Leads team in development of market based business strategies that achieve key account objectives, maximize exposure and opportunities for company products.

+ Proactively evaluates business opportunities, challenges and strategies - providing recommendations and actionable solutions to National Sales Director and the Key Accounts team.

+ Responsible for recruiting, training, and development of KAM team. Aligns performance for success by focusing and guiding others in accomplishing work objectives and creating an environment conducive to continued development and evolution.

+ Coordinates with National Director and KAM team to drive accountability for sales results and successful MBO performance.

+ Collaborates with cross functional partners across NSBU brands.

+ Ensure full and complete compliance of all selling activities within the area of responsibility to the standards of all State and Federal regulations.

+ Provide strategic input to Marketing colleagues for development and continued evolution of the marketing plan and KAM related customer resources.

+ Establish productive business relationships with key local, regional and National Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), and C&D suite stakeholders within the geographical coverage area and assigned therapeutic areas. Key customers to include IDNs, Health Systems, Academic Centers, National Retail Pharmacy Chains, Military Treatment Facilities, and National Travel Medicine Providers.

+ Work with Key Account Managers to stay current on market issues and implement initiatives to maximize sales. Works collaboratively with Managed Markets partners to achieve shared sales and product access objectives.

+ Guide, coach, and hold KAMs accountable to developing and executing account plans and business strategies that pave the way for Takeda's products and prepares for successful product launches

+ Drive account planning and execution: Ensures development and execution of account plans/business strategies that increase penetration of the account with key stakeholders of influence (i.e. D-suite, C-suite, KOLs ) to achieve business objectives and measurable outcomes

+ Uses own experience and analytical tools in the call reporting system to track and monitor Account Manager performance and help them to do the same

+ Advancing the KAM team vision: Ensures that the KAMs are earning Takeda a place in the account's decision-making process. Effectively anticipate and address developments at the account level impacting Takeda.

+ Is consistently self motivated and energized in approach to work and interactions with team. Sets and pursues challenging goals for self and others

+ Proactive team engagement: Has impact beyond their Area by proactively sharing best practices/strategies/tactics with other KAM ADs and exemplifying the behaviors identified in the Leadership Behaviors

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

Required:

+ Bachelor's degree

+ 10 years of sales and/or marketing experience in the pharmaceutical, immunology, biologic/biotech, or medical device industries.

+ Minimum of 5 years of management level experience which may include district management, account management, marketing management, and/or product management experience or the equivalent

+ Demonstrated business and strategic planning skills to identify unique selling opportunities and adaptability to changing market conditions. Demonstrated ability to coach, delegate, and motivate a sales team providing timely feedback.

+ Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data to develop strategic and actionable business plans to deliver sales results.

+ Strong communication skills - Verbal, written and presentation skills

+ Strong experience using MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint

Preferred:

+ MBA or Master's Degree

+ Experience with infusible or injectable products (buy and bill)Account-based sales (e.g. hospital, health system, infusion centers and large group practice) experience

+ Experience in Immunology, Vaccines (Travel Medicine) , and/or rare disease

+ Vaccine or Biologic product launch experience

+ 2+ years of leading teams, preferably account managers

+ Reside within or close proximity to assigned geography

Licenses/Certifications:

Valid Driver's License

Travel Requirements:

+ Ability to drive to or fly to various meetings/client sites to work with sales professionals, attend local and national meetings, and trainings.

+ Overnight travel to support Regional or broader National Vaccine initiatives

+ Travel 50-75%

This position is currently classified as "remote" in accordance with Takeda's Hybrid and Remote Work policy.

**Base Salary Range** : $156,800.00 to $196,000.00, based on candidate professional experience level. Employees may also be eligible for Short-term and Long-Term Incentive benefits as well. Employees are eligible to participate in Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 401(k), Charitable Contribution Match, Holidays, Personal Days & Vacation, Tuition Reimbursement Program and Paid Volunteer Time Off.
