Job Description

The Senior Financial Planning Analyst has a key role in multiple aspects of the planning, quarterly forecast and reporting process. As a key team member, this role will provide meaningful contributions and impact on the small, agile, experienced team. Responsibilities include legal entity view plan development capital and dividend planning, and associated quarterly financial forecasting and analyses.

Responsibilities:

Support the development of legal entity planning and forecast requirements including:

* Annual and Quarterly plan development
* Quarterly financial forecast
* Data management across multiple systems, including GT, ECON, FSRI, GPS and TM1
* Validate and analyze plan and forecast submissions, identify errors and Inconsistencies, and resolve issues with the respective financial contacts
* US and Munich reporting requirements for 3-year plan horizon, with a 5-year projection for valuation purposes
* Multiple accounting basis: IFRS, Stat, GAAP
* Perform variance analysis and provide insight of key drivers to senior management

Assist in the development of various management reports, including quarterly and annual reporting, quarterly forecast booklet, capital planning sheets, and ad-hoc requests

Provide insight and influence recommendations within strategic projects and initiatives related to financial plan/forecasting. Communicate findings and recommendations to senior management

Partner and communicate effectively with all levels of staff and senior management

Your profile

Successful candidates will possess the following skills/capabilities:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or Mathematics; CPA or MBA designations preferred but not required

5+ years accounting or finance experience preferred

Knowledge and experience with financial planning and business planning, as well as quarterly forecasting of financial results

Familiarity with statutory, GAAP, IFRS accounting principles; Working knowledge of ECON, Global Template, TM1

Excellent financial analysis skills; Experience working with reinsurance and insurance entities

High proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Access, Word, & PowerPoint) required

Excellent data management and reporting skills required

Proven ability to understand and prioritize requirements, and deliver on time

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the experience, confidence and credibility to work and collaborate with others

Strong team orientation, collaborating with co-workers to develop and implement solutions
