Mental Health Support Specialist/DSP

People Incorporated Mental Health Services is a Minnesota leader in behavioral and mental health services. We are seeking Mental Health Support Specialists to join the teams at our Community Residential Services programs in the Twin Cities Metro Area. This is an entry-level position that is responsible for providing a supportive environment for our clients.

These programs provide a more intensive level of mental health and independent living support in a residential or apartment setting to adults with a serious and persistent mental illness (SPMI) diagnosis and/or developmental disabilities.

Compensation: $17.50 - $18.15/hr- depending on education and experience + Shift Differential for Evenings & Overnights & $1,000 hiring bonus!

Required Qualifications:

* High school diploma, GED or Equivalent
* Valid driving's license, excellent driving record and current auto insurance

Preferred Qualifications:

* AA or BA degree in Behavioral Sciences
* Previous experience working with individuals with mental illness, chemical dependency, developmental disabilities, and/or other health conditions that impact mental health

Hours: Full-time & Part-time available: Day, Evening, and Overnight shifts

Locations: Blaine, Richfield, Oakdale, Minneapolis, Burnsville, Apple Valley & Little Canada

Main Job Duties:

* Assist residents in their daily activities
* Intervention and verbal de-escalation if needed
* Documentation of behaviors and symptoms
* In-house & community activities with clients
* Teaching ILS (Independent living skills)
* Medication administration
* Serving meals and completing general housekeeping
