The Summer at Roche Intern Program has been developed to provide students with a fun yet rewarding summer through hands-on experience. Interns enjoy opportunities to network with other interns as well as employees throughout our organization. Additionally, we help our students meet their career development and educational goals while potentially building a future with the Roche organization.

This internship position is located in Tucson.

Key Responsibilities

* Learn the role of a Roche Process Engineer


* Assess existing processes and equipment and identify and implement improvements.


* Implement new or transferred manufacturing processes in a timely manner.


* Lead and/or participate in equipment and process validations.


* Assist in troubleshooting of process and/or equipment issues.


* Strong written and verbal communication skills.


* Learn how to operate in a GMP environment and effectively manage process changes


* Assist in designing and implementing new equipment and tools to improve manufacturing efficiencies, reduce ergonomic stress, and improve quality.
* Update, create and sustain Standard Work documents.


* Create and update drawings using Pro/Engineer or SolidWorks.


* Work as part of a project team in the development and/or implementation of new equipment and tools.


* Technical support for daily production issues related to manufacturing equipment.





Who You Are

* Targeting undergraduate students majoring in Mechanical, Electrical, Biomedical, and or Chemical Engineering.
* Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college/university during the program calendar year 2023.




* Base knowledge of lean manufacturing, and or base knowledge of medical devices.


* Desire GPA 3.0 or higher.


* Previous work experience preferred.


* Student organization and/or study abroad experiences are a plus.


* Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

* Intensive full-time (40 hours per week), 12-week paid internship.


* Program start dates are in May and June 2023.

* Lead or participate in intern committees to design and coordinate program events and initiatives.
