As an Outpatient Physical Therapy Assistant you will:

* Reviews patient medical record for pertinent information related to treatment
* Gathers objective measurements accurately and efficiently and observes patient performance as indicated by Physical Therapist.
* Reassesses patient progress at appropriate intervals utilizing appropriate objective measures and discusses further rehabilitation needs with physical therapist and advocates for patients to receive those services
* Continually measure patient's progress toward goals to assure appropriate services are provided in the most effective manner possible.
* Based on physical therapist evaluation and recommendations, the physical therapy assistant will provide support and plan for treatment in accordance with best practice guidelines as available.
* Prepares patient for discharge in a timely manner and works to minimize barriers for patients to meet goals. Problem Solving
* Responds to patient's current physical and emotional status; modifies treatment accordingly in collaboration with the physical therapist.
* Establishes alternative plans when current techniques are not effective and responds to patient and family concerns quickly and appropriately.

What You Need to Be Successful:

* Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
* Holds a current temporary or permanent license to practice physical therapy in the State of Maryland.
* BLS required.
