*Associate Lab Manager, Quality*
The Associate Lab Manager, Quality is a leadership role on the Quality Lab team at Redwood Materials. This person will manage laboratory operations to ensure the lab is meeting sample analysis demand to support multiple teams, manage lab supervisors over varying shifts, and identifies and resolves technical issues. The Associate Lab Manager will be responsible for building a team of 2-6 Laboratory Supervisors and 20-60 Technicians to mentor for professional growth and operational excellence. This position is a multi-faceted role requiring the ability to balance strategy and execution.
*Responsibilities will include: *

* Lead a culture of safety and improve the safety of the laboratory environment over time
* Ensure the lab is meeting sample analysis demand in the lab to support production requirements.
* In conjunction with production, method development, and R&D staff, develop and manage overall project timelines and milestones according to business needs to ensure analysis needs are met
* Manage staffing, resources, budgets, inventory, equipment, schedule, and capacity
* Build an enjoyable company culture that motivates employees to perform at their best through positive encouragement and consistent feedback
* Identify and resolve roadblocks and potential problems, with appropriate escalation to senior management as appropriate
* Develop methods for improving employee efficiency and reducing waste of materials or resources
* Develop spreadsheets, diagrams, and process maps to document needs
* Establish Lab KPIs; Lead and support team activities to meet KPI and lab objectives
* Identify and resolve technical issues through root cause analysis
* Recruit employees, assign, direct, and evaluate their work, and identify key growth areas for team. Provide opportunities and feedback that support their professional development
* Conduct performance evaluations for employment decisions to include promotions, salary adjustments and terminations
* Review data and transactions within LIMS and create reports to support management decision-making

*Desired Qualifications*

* Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred
* Direct management experience and experience working in an analytical lab
* Experience with calibration, troubleshooting, and using analytical instrumentation
* Demonstrated ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situations
* Demonstrated ability to successfully navigate the staffing lifecycle, including interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions, and terminations.
* Experience with performance metrics and process improvement
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy
* Strong and demonstrated effective verbal, written, and listening skills
* Ability to analyze, create and effectively communicate analyses with all levels of employees, management, suppliers, and customers
* Familiarity with Microsoft Office - Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
* Should be able to work in environments with variable noise levels, lighting conditions and temperature
