Electronic Technician

Expand your professional career as an Electronic Technician with Atkore in Hobart, IN .As an Electronic Technician , you will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting electrical equipment issues, wiring, and resources in the tube manufacturing operation. This is a direct hire opportunity.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associate degree in an electrical field (ASEET, equivalent, or higher)
  • 1+ years of experience in electronics troubleshooting in a metals related industrial environment or tube mill industry
  • Ability to stand and walk up to 12 hours per shift, and lift and manipulate up to 60 pounds
  • Extensive PLC/HMI programming experience
  • Knowledge of A/B and Siemens PLCs (preferred)
  • Knowledge of AC/DC drives, induction heating and welding equipment, flying cut-offs, Servo Drive Systems, automated packaging systems and/or robotics, and 3-phase power systems
  • Automation experience
  • Ability to troubleshoot and make repairs down to component level
  • Strong leadership, teamwork, and decision-making skills
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills
  • RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct routine maintenance of electrical equipment, wiring, and resources
  • Identify and provide scheduled and other preventive equipment maintenance
  • Work with maintenance and production personnel to analyze and troubleshoot equipment failures
  • Assist with equipment installation
  • Provide procedural improvements
  • Work closely with production management to increase equipment performance and uptime
  • Participate in Lean Manufacturing activities and promote the plant Lean culture
  • All other duties as assigned
