*This is a Pool process with full-time, part-time, permanent and fixed term opportunities.*
*About the role*
The Registry is seeking motivated and passionate individuals with a desire to help others and make a positive impact in the community.
The successful candidate will be part of the Community Engagement team which assesses community needs to develop responsive, innovative and practical policies and programs that deliver Registry services to key stakeholders and community groups.
The Community Engagement Officer will undertake regular intrastate travel, to metro and regional areas of Western Australia, to deliver culturally appropriate Registry related outreach and educational programs to community groups of diverse backgrounds, cultures and minority groups. The officer will engage with local community members and organisations and establish and maintain strong, positive and productive relationships which support the ongoing work of the Registry.
*Eligibility*
Successful applicants will be required to regularly travel to deliver Registry related services throughout the metro and regional areas of Western Australia. As such you will need:
* A current and valid WA Motor Vehicle Drivers’ Licence
* To be available for regular intrastate travel
All employees are required to undergo employment screening, which includes a National Criminal History Check and other checks that may be relevant to the position requirements.
The Community Engagement Officer will be required to travel to remote Aboriginal Communities and attend events which, for the safety of the community, may have access restrictions in place. Successful candidates will be required to comply with future Government Health Directions and are strongly encouraged to be vaccinated against COVID-19 to protect the communities and people we serve.

The Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages is a division of the Department of Justice which creates and permanently stores birth, death, change of name and marriage records for life events occurring in Western Australia and performs civil marriages in the Perth Registry Office.

*Pool Recruitment*
This pool will be open for a period of 18 months from the day after the breach of standard claim period closes. Permanent, fixed term, full time and part time appointments may be offered as vacancies arise; however, an appointment is not guaranteed.
The Department of Justice uses recruitment pools to build a bank of talent for future opportunities. Applicants found suitable in this pool, may be considered for subsequent, similar vacancies at similar locations, with the Department of Justice for the duration of the pool.
Currently, there are two 12-month fixed term contract positions available for immediate filling.
