Description

Positions are located in the Capital Area Human Services District (CAHSD) - Developmental Disabilities (DD) division in Baton Rouge, Louisiana which provides services and support to individuals with developmental disabilities in a seven parish area, including East and West Baton Rouge, East and West Feliciana, Ascension, Iberville, and Pointe Coupee. The incumbents of this position are directly supervised by the Community Service Supervisors (CSS) in the Family Support and Entry Units.

*Qualifications: *A baccalaureate degree in psychology; counseling; social work; sociology; criminal justice; nursing; public health; public health administration; public administration; hospital administration; education (with twenty-four semester hours in psychology, special education or early childhood education); speech communications/pathology; physical therapy; occupational therapy; therapeutic recreation; music therapy; or family and consumer sciences (with a concentration in child, family and social services) plus four years of professional level experience in any of the following: developmentally disabled services, alcohol/drug abuse counseling or treatment, mental health treatment, health care management, or social services.

*Family Support Unit: *Implements the development service plan and monitors compliance by providers, family members and others to ensure supports are delivered satisfactorily. Participates in setting case plan goals/objectives in family team conferences and presenting request for funding as appropriate. Monitors the flow of required documents for fiscal oversight of service plan. Observe upper level staff performing on-site interviews with provider agency administrators; and assure program compliance with contract expectations. Coordinates exploration of alternate living arrangements for clients/families requesting such, as outlined in plan of services. Participates and/or testifies in the appeal process coupled with gathering documents, and completes a Summary of Evidence for submission to the Division of Administrative Law Health and Hospital Section for case appeals.

*Entry Unit: *Assesses home environment, living situation, and abilities of individual and families to determine the need for support service. Also determines if other agency referrals are necessary for crisis intervention. Completes standardized assessments for determining eligibility of Developmentally Disabled state and federally/mandated programs and services. Determines the current status of clients to evaluate if an immediate danger/risk is present. Obtains medical, psychological, educational reports on clients; and determines if information supports eligibility requirements as established by state law. Prepares eligibility decisions. Participates and/or testifies in the appeal process coupled with gathering documents, and completes a Summary of Evidence for submission to the Division of Administrative Law Health and Hospital Section for case appeals.

Pay: $16.00 - $24.00 per hour
