About the role:
Roy Hill Major Projects team is currently seeking a Specialist Tenure Mine to join them on a 5-2 Roster based in West Perth. Reporting to the Principal Project Approvals, you will be responsible for the management and co-ordination of land tenure, land access agreements and other government approvals for Capital Project.
Duties:
Assisting in developing approval strategies for land tenure acquisition and management under the Mining Act 1978 and the Land Administration Act 1997.
Liaising with both internal and third party operational and project teams to obtain required information for approval applications and schedule updates.
Assisting in the management of Warden Court matters including: managing proceedings, negotiations with other parties to resolve matters including the drafting of access agreements.
Risk assessment and mitigation, and providing advice and recommendations to address any identified issues.
Preparing information and provide advice to support regulatory approvals.
Assisting in Native Title and Heritage negotiations, matters and drafting of agreements.
Ensuring appropriate procedures and processes are established and communicated with respect to project tenure.
Assisting in the development of guidelines with the aim of communicating standards during operations and any construction projects.
Skills and Experience:
Tertiary qualifications in law.
Admitted to practice law in Western Australia.
At least three years post admission experience.
Demonstrated experience in land tenure, legal or statutory compliance environment.
Previous experience in the preparation of land tenure approvals.
Previous management of mine tenure applications and objections through the Warden's Court.
