Cooperative Federal Reforms
Supports the Minister for Finance, APS Executives and Australian Government agencies with regulatory reforms to improve productivity through cooperation with states and Commonwealth agencies.
Occupational Mobility
Improves Occupational Mobility through expanded Mutual Recognition to make business licencing easier.
International Standards and Engagement
Builds international engagement to increase regulatory alignment and build access to global markets and opportunities for Australians, including by leveraging International Standards to balance trust, efficiency, risk and protection.
Border Regulation and Trade
Supports the delivery of a Simplified Trade System to reduce costs for traders across the trade lifecycle, focussing on streamlined Fit and Proper Persons (FPP) tests with development of a whole-of-government framework for clarification on use of FPP tests and removal of duplicative requirements.
Policy Lab
Responsible for regulation-related policy research, analysis and development. We are a centre of excellence and innovation in regulation design and practice across the Australian Public Service, engaging closely with a wide range of stakeholders to understand and address regulatory problems, and to deliver better outcomes for the Australian community.
Regulator Performance
Enhances regulator performance to increase accountability and transparency of regulators and capacity to be a responsive regulator, share best practice and build regulatory capability.
Regulatory Stewardship
Embeds regulatory stewardship across the APS and explores opportunities for outcomes-based approaches to regulatory management.

Under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the Australian Public Service (APS) unless the Agency Head has agreed otherwise, in writing.
Successful applicants will be required to undergo the process to obtain and maintain, or continue to hold the required security clearance level for the role as indicated in the downloadable job pack. All Finance staff are required to have a minimum baseline security clearance prior to commencement.
This role is being advertised as both ongoing and non-ongoing. Roles may be offered as either ongoing or non-ongoing subject to business needs and/or candidate preference. Where a non-ongoing position is offered, the role will be filled as a specified term vacancy for an initial period of up to 18 months. Specified term vacancies may be offer for a maximum of 18 months initially, and be extended up to a maximum period of three years.
