*About The Role: *
We are currently looking for dedicated and experienced social workers to join our Feltham Young Offenders Institute Social Work Team. This is a small team consisting of three social workers who offer independent support to young people in the establishment. The team is passionate about advocating for young people with a strong focus on multi-agency collaboration to ensure the safety and wellbeing is promoted for all young people.
*Key Responsibilities: *
1. Assessing the needs of young people upon admission to the establishment.
2. To support the Governor to meet statutory duties under section 11 of the Children Act 2004.
3. Acting as an advocate for young people in the establishment and providing support, guidance and direct work to young people.
4. Work collaboratively with a range of professionals and agencies ensuring the overall needs of young people are met whilst in the establishment.
*Your Skills: *
1. An enthusiasm and passion for working with young people, underpinned by a ‘child first’ approach
2. Experience of working with young people within a statutory environment / team
3. Ability to write high quality assessments, care plans and reports
4. Good communication skills with children, parents/carers and colleagues
*Professional Qualifications*:
1. A recognised social work qualification
2. Registered with Social Work England
3. Satisfactory Enhanced DBS
