Position Title: Manager, Channel Sales Engineering (M2)

Position Summary

This position is responsible for leading a team of Sales Engineers that provide technical support to the indirect channel sales team at Crown Castle.

Essential Job Functions

* Provide the technical expertise and recommendations to develop custom solutions that meet customer requirements.
* Provide product training and onboarding support to prospective and established selling partners.
* Support the definition and development of new products based on feedback from the Sales Engineers and customers - be the voice of the customer to product development.
* Provide technical direction, leadership, and coaching to a domestic Sales Engineering team of 3-6 employees.
* Participate in customer and partner meetings as required to support sales opportunities and partner training initiatives.
* Develop technical proposals and presentations for Sales, Sales Engineers, and Customers.
* Support a national team across West-East time zones and delegate tasks and requirements outside of your home time zone to ensure sufficient coverage.
* Travel nationally and represent Crown Castle in partnership with your channel sales manager at partner events, trade shows, and conferences.


* Bachelor of Science in related subject, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology
* Industry certification in IP discipline (CCNA, MEF, Vendor Specific) preferred but not required

Ideal Candidate

You are a self-starter that takes initiative in identifying your own projects, managing them, and providing organized updates to leadership. You easily pivot from technology and engineering-focused presentations to coaching and leadership engagement. You like to be busy and thrive in a busy work environment and multi-task at times, but you manage your own time well. You have successful experience working with a channel partner sales program and can differentiate between a master agent and selling agent. You're comfortable traveling, networking and presenting to a crowd; a key part of this job requires you to represent Crown Castle at national events and speak to an audience on our business and the solutions we provide.

Experience/Minimum Qualifications

* Seven (7) or more years of experience in Technology, Network Design and Engineering, Product Management, and/or Sales Engineering.
* Four (4) or more years in a customer-facing sales or support role
* Self-managed with proven ability to multi-task and meet customer deadlines.
* Experience/Knowledge with competing technologies and service providers and application of that knowledge in the sales cycle
* Strong knowledge of general industry networking technologies such as IP, Ethernet, DWDM, cloud computing, and/or SD-WAN
* Working knowledge of Carrier Ethernet Technologies including MEF 9 & 14 standards; VLANS, Q-in-Q, Data Link Layer Tunneling, RSTP, G.8032, Y.1731
* Knowledge of IP protocols such as BGP
* Previous management experience preferred

Other Skills/Abilities

* Must have the ability to qualify and engineer multiple technologies at multiple levels
* Basic understanding of data/Internet uses and demonstrated ability to sell to business customers
* Strong computer knowledge: MS Office including Microsoft Word, Visio, and Excel

Reports to: Regional Director Sales Engineering

Title(s) of direct reports (if applicable: Sales Engineer, Senior Sales Engineer

Working Conditions: This role falls into our hybrid work model working in your assigned office approximately 60% of the time (3 days per week) and where you do your best work 40% (2 days per week). There is an expectation of collaboration with teammates and stakeholders for moments that matter that could require travel (up to 25%).

Compensation Information: For New York City residents the expected salary range is between $116,000-$166,750.
