  • Job description
    Our client, a Federal Government Agency, is looking for an  APS6 Finance Officers and Finance Modeller  who can provide detailed technical, professional, policy, operational support and advice in relation to complex problems. Its a team membership position that may be required to perform work that involves team leadership and management responsibilities requiring the setting of priorities and managing work-flows of a team.
    Key responsibilities of the role include:
  • Develop and and maintain models within the CFO Group. Contribute to the Implementation of CFO Group Modelling framework ensuring consistency and reliability of the models.
  • Assurance on the model drivers, assumptions, resultant outputs and providing training to end users 
  • Analysing and interpreting statistical reports to assist with the development of work plans and strategic planning.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure effective and timely implementation of projects.
  • Coordinating and providing cost estimates for all internal and external requests for changes to systems.
  • Developing correspondence for stakeholders, such as financial reports, corporate documentation and responses to ministerial submissions.
  • Exercising appropriate delegations in accordance with legislation and guidelines.
  • Managing quality assurance activities and outcomes including the use of integrity/error reporting and the coordination of quality audits.
  • Undertaking quality assurance of feasibility and cost estimates, assumptions and justifications.
  • Undertaking financial administration and detailed financial analysis of branch/division’s variance to budget, monitoring, forecasting and accruals. 
  • Skills and Experience:
  • Relevant academic qualifications with membership of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA), Certified Practising Accountants (CPA) or other equivalent professional finance bodies (or holding equivalent finance-related post graduate qualifications)
  • Extensive direct finance modelling experience performing and delivering complex financial and governance outcomes.
  • Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
