The role

This business-critical role reports to the Reporting Lead and will see you sharing in the continued development and maintenance of data reporting and data management disciplines and associated processes. Once familiarised, you will assist the executives and other data users by delivering BI outputs which reflect business needs in an accurate and timely manner.

It is integral to this role to contribute to and share in strategic development projects to bring into service new and improved functionality and systems that enrich Active’s BI capability.

In this role will include, but not be limited to:

  • Understanding, creating and amending complex SQL queries, stored procedures and other code assets
  • Designing, developing, and deploying BI data solutions across the business by developing analytical reports and dashboards in a variety of reporting platforms such as PowerBI, SSRS and occasionally some Qlikview
  • Sharing in driving a structured and appropriate data culture within BI & Analytics and across the wider business and group
  • Help in driving and evangelising regarding PowerBI as a tool and platform in the organisation
  • Synthesizing other data sources, including customer research, competitor analysis and market performance to augment analysis and quality of recommendations
  • Training and guiding data consumers of all types to share with them knowledge and skills, helping them to self-serve and make best use of the BI features available
  • What we are looking for

  • Current frequent use of the MS tech stack especially SQL Server, SSRS, PowerBI and some SSIS experience would be a bonus
  • Extensive experience of working around the MS tech stack including being comfortable to write complex SQL Scripts, maintain views, stored procedures, etc.
  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Business, Technology or other related field, or an equivalent level of work experience
  • Prior experience in a data analyst, product analyst or other analytical role, ideally within a Business Intelligence team
  • Strong understanding of Business Intelligence, Business Process Management and other aspects of reporting/analytics
  • Experience with Azure Cloud such as Azure Data pipelines, Azure SQL Database and Azure Synapse Analytics and Azure Machine Learning would be an added advantage
  • Be a self-motivator that has end-to-end skill set, with a strong technical background as well as customer-centric approach
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to negotiate, consult and liaise with business, technical and supplier personnel on complex and technical issues and to develop and present reports, submissions, and recommendations for both technical and non-technical audiences
