Generally the Resident Engineer is to:
The Resident Engineer attends to the Client‘s needs in technical assistance with respect to Construction Support Services scope during the construction phase for the infrastructures and/or discipline under his/her perimeter. His/her main focus is to check the compliance of the construction works with the design’s intent, and resolve issues related to the design that may arise during construction. He/she works in close liaison.
with his/her Team Leader from Head Office in the Production Center (PC), and with his/her DJV peers within the Resident Engineering Design Site (REDS) Team and the Australia Lead Design Team.
Specifically the deputy Resident Engineer - Underground Works Specialist (PSC) is to:
The deputy Resident Engineer will work on site with the Resident Engineer Underground Works Specialist (PSC). Both positions shall guarantee a continuous presence on site with 14/7 rosters.
In relation to (1) the PSC excavation & rock support design (comprising essentially MH, TH, IPB, Draft Tubes tunnels and all intersections between those areas and the permanent / temporary tunnels), as well as (2) some temporary and permanent D&B tunnels (comprising essentially MAT02, ECVT02, ECVT03, CT02, CT07, CT09, CT15, CT16- see here above the list of tunnels):
• Take ownership of the design and develop a comprehensive knowledge of the DJV’s Service Agreement with the Client (and associated relevant documents) for the services related to technical assistance during the construction;
• Assimilate and take the lead on the activities of the DJV in response to the Client’s requests for technical assistance in relation to the design. This will be performed mainly via the processes and deliverables associated with DCRs, FCRs, NCRs, FORs and RFIs;
• Coordinate with the other REDS team members in charge of following the other underground structures of the project (e.g. other temporary and permanent D&B tunnels, shafts, etc…): tunnelling resident engineers and geologist engineer.
• Facilitate the interfaces between the Client and TEF HO in the resolution of design issues related to the construction works, in particular in relation to the specific PSC Observational Approach that will be developed during the PSC construction and based, amongst others, on the additional investigation and monitoring results.
You have an engineering degree specializing in civil engineering or Geotechnics. You have +10 years of engineering experience and mandatory +5 years of work experience as a Designer representative in construction sites.
You have Experience in engineering or construction company in the technical studies and/or monitoring of construction of underground infrastructure projects, and particularly in large caverns. You have Experience in underground hydroelectric plants will be appreciated. You master Word & Excel.
You have Technical skills in underground works and associated civil engineering. You have Excellent interpersonal qualities and team work skills. You have Excellent reporting skills. Rigor and experiences organization. Technical curiosity.
