Overview

Atlantic Health System is seeking a Full Time Patient Care Technician for the Emergency Department at Hackettstown Medical Center to work 7:00am - 7:30pm including every other weekend.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

* Assists in the assessment of ED patients and in the preparation of patients for tests and procedures.
* Enters orders into computer and stocks rooms.
* Obtains and records vital signs on ED patients.
* Performs venipunctures and obtains other specimens.
* Performs Point of Care (POC) testing and reports results to the registered nurse. Performs EKG's.
* Transcribes physician orders into Cerner EMR when needed.
* Assists Physicians and RNs with procedures by preparing necessary supplies and transporting patients for procedures.
* Maintains and restocks all supplies necessary for patients and procedural care taking care to report supply shortages.
* Ensures patient safety at all times by rounding regularly and monitoring vital signs as delegated by the registered nurse
* Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age appropriate care to all patients.
* Basic skills and knowledge of computer

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

* High school graduate or GED required

Minimum Experience:

* EMT/Nursing school or previous Nursing assistant experience

Licenses/Certifications:

* BLS Certification required
