Position Highlights


  • Position Assistant Manager, Sterile Processing Department
  • Location Skokie Hospital
  • Full Time/Part Time Full Time (40 hours per week)
  • Hours Hours will be scheduled on the Day shift, with rotation into weekends and holidays
  • Required Travel Must be willing to travel to other NorthShore sites as needed (Highland Park, Glenview, Evanston, Skokie)


What You Will Need


  • Education Bachelor’s Degree Preferred Minimum High School Diploma/GED
  • Certification Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution(CBSPD) preferred or International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management (IAHCSMM)
  • Experience 5 years SPD/OR experience in surgical instrumentation
  • Skills IAHCSMM is preferred


What You Will Do


  • Supervises all activities in the assigned area. Schedules staffing levels to assure proper productivity. Adjusts schedule to meet department needs.
  • Responsible for the orientation and training program for new personnel. Assigns new personnel to appropriate staff trainer/preceptor for introduction and exposure to all other functions.
  • Assists Management in various functions.
  • Maintains regular contact with other hospital personnel in order to review the efficiency of services provided.
  • Collects and collates statistical data and graphs for required reports relating to task performance and productivity
