Summary of Position: Under immediate supervision, supports providers (physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants) in provision of patient care; includes recording vital signs, discussing chief health concerns, performance testing, and administering injections; assists with procedures and documentation. Primary Job Responsibilities: Assists with providing patient care: records vital signs, discusses and records chief health concerns, performs tests, administers injections. Places phone calls to pharmacies to order prescriptions; set up referral contacts. Prepares patient charts, answers phone, performs other office duties as required. Maintains neatness of work area, stocks patient rooms with supplies. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum qualifications: NYS LPN license.# One (1) year experience in an outpatient clinical setting preferred.# Required Skills, Attributes and Abilities: Knowledge of medical terminology. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to maintain schedules and establish day-to-day priorities while utilizing critical thinking skills in all aspects of the job. Must be able to multitask while remaining professional, focused, composed and positive. Excellent customer service skills and must display integrity, friendliness and compassion. Must be able to establish an appropriate and effective rapport with patients, co-workers and medical staff. Must be able to demonstrate effective and appropriate written and oral communication skills. Must have basic math skills including adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing. Ability to take and follow direction in a positive and appropriate manner. Must be flexible to take initiative and embrace new opportunities to grow both personally and organizationally. Must be efficient and effective in the use of resources.
