$10,000 SIGN ON BONUS FOR 1+ YEARS RNFA EXPERIENCE

Description

Functions in the first assistant and second assistant role, under the direction of the surgeon. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission and values. This position is an on-licensed/certified staff member authorized to transport and/or stock medications to meet specified essential job duties. This includes staff who do not have the authority to prescribe, dispense and/or administer medications.

Principle Accountabilities: % Of Time Spent

1. Collaborates with the OR circulating RN/scrub nurse in developing/implementing a plan of care for the patient using age specific criteria. (20%)

2. Assists the Surgeon intraoperatively by maintaining a sterile field and in performing a safe operative procedure. (50%)

3. Documents all aspect of patient care. (3%)

4. Plans/participates in patient discharge from the OR.(5%) 5. Participates in checking/maintaining equipment/supplies and the physical environment. (5%)

6. Committee participation/Educational Activities/Special Projects. (5%)

7. Performs clerical/computer tasks (2%)

8. Performs all other duties as assigned. 10% Total: 100%

9. Transport and/or stock medications

Education

Graduate of a Certified Surgical Technician ProgramGraduate of a CSFA program accredited by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting. LICENSING/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION:Currently Certified as a CSFACertified Surgical Technician

Experience

Prolonged physical effort is required due to standing and holding body in one position for long periods of time, with continuous eye strain. Must be able to lift heavy objects in excess of 25 lbs. using proper lifting techniques and asking for assistance as necessary. Ability to push and pull equipment weighing in excess of 40 lbs using proper techniques and with assistance as necessary. Manual dexterity, coordination, and skillful use of hands for working with required equipment and patients. Ability to physically perform necessary documentation per computer and/or in writing.

Working Conditions

Employee is required to sit occasionally, stand continuously and walk frequently. Employee must lift/carry a light (20# max), medium(50# max) loads frequently and over 100# occasionally with assistance.. Employee is required to bend, squat, climb, reach forward and reach overhead frequently, kneel, lift from floor to waist and lift waist to overhead occasionally. For repetitive action, employee is required to use both hands for simple grasping, pushing/pulling and fine manipulation. Employee is occasionally exposed to the following environmental conditions: fumes, radiation, electrical hazard and CRT terminal work. Employee is frequently exposed to blood borne pathogens. May be needed to work any shift due to 24hr day, 7 days per week operation. (Occasionally: 1-33%, Frequently: 34-66%, Continuously: 67-100%) The most significant of duties are included but this does not exclude occasional work assignments not mentioned or developmental duties.

Job Relationships: Member of a nursing unit that interacts regularly with patients, physician, families and visitors and a variety of nursing and ancillary personnel.
