We are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer for the Ultrasonic Development Group at K&S and in the role, you will become knowledgeable in the development of ultrasonic transducers and other components used to create welded interconnections. Your work will concentrate on designing, analysis, modelling, testing, and applying sound engineering judgment of engineering principles with the ultimate goal of delivering reliable, consistent, and repeatable Inter-Connect process to our customers.

* Design, develop, build, and sustain ultrasonic related components and test systems
* Design, build prototypes, conduct, analyze and document experiments on ultrasonic systems and related test systems
* Develop effective manufacturing methods using Machine tools including CNC Turning systems, Wire EDM, and conventional machining tools for rapid prototyping of parts
* Programs CNC equipment for rapid prototyping and the creation of complex geometries
* Write specifications and procedures
* Transfers product designs from development to the factory
* Collaborates with other engineering teams and operations/marketing groups

Requirements

* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical engineering or related degree (Mechanical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mechanics, or Acoustics & Vibrations); required
* Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related degree; preferred
* 3+ years of related experience; required
* Knowledge of lathes, mills and power tools to modify
* Hands on skills in assembling small parts, setting up experiments in the lab
* 3D modeling in programs such as NX, Pro/Engineer; preferred
* Finite Element Analysis [FEA] and simulations in programs such as Comsol, Nastran, Ansys; preferred
* Simulation or data analysis using Python, LabView, MatLab, preferred
* Design of Experiments and data analysis using Anova, Taguchi, and Minitab; preferred
* Knowledge of Laser Vibrometers, Oscilloscopes, and other data collection tools; preferred
* Knowledge of materials, ultrasonic or acoustic systems; strongly preferred
* Ability to travel up 15% (domestic & international); required
