This position is a member of the Financial Services Team and works closely with the Vice President of Finance & Administration to ensure the accuracy of the College’s general ledger and budget development. The Controller manages and is responsible for the Business Office operations of the College that include accounting and financial reporting, treasury management, budgeting, accounts payable, receivables, and receipts & operating expenses. The Controller assures compliance with all federal, state and local requirements; ensures safeguarding of college assets through internal controls; oversees accounting & budgeting for grants; and provides administrative accounting and budgeting support to all College departments.
Under the direction of the Vice President, the Controller will coordinate with the College’s external auditors to prepare the annual audit. The Controller has direct contact with executive officers, deans, directors, faculty, staff, and the general public, as well as with the college Foundation, Illinois Community College Board, external auditors, and various local, state, and federal agencies. The Controller provides innovative solutions for emerging financial management needs, as well as timely strategic decision support for the college leadership team, Board of Trustees, and other stakeholders.
