The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following: 

  • Handling of piece parts ranging in weight from 1lb. to 35 lbs. 

  • Deburring and cleaning of parts using various hand and power tools such as a disc buffer, disc grinder. 

  • Inspection of parts visually and using various measurement tools such as height gauges and verniers. 

Enrollment and successful completion of courses offered at S&C through S&C Continuous Improvement Institute are expected. 

To select this job as one of interest to you, at a minimum, you must have the following: 

  • Demonstrated ability to read basic blueprints and follow specific instructions and procedures. 

  • Ability to organize, prioritize and plan daily work assignments in a self-directed changing environment. 

  • Knowledge of shop math. 

  • Ability to use measuring equipment such as height gauges or verniers. 

  • Understanding of metal-cutting applications and machine practices. 

Relevant Work Experience: 
Operation of numerically controlled machines. 


  • Standing: Most tasks performed in a standing position. 

  • Lifting: Frequent lifting of items ranging in weight from 1lb. to 25 lbs. and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. 

  • Walking: Occasional walking short distances (less than 1/8 mile.) 

  • Carrying: Frequent carrying of items ranging in weight from 1lb. to 50 lbs. 

  • Pushing: Occasional pushing of part containers with manual hand truck. 

  • Pulling: Occasional pulling of part containers with manual hand truck. 

  • Bending: Occasional bending and crouching required to perform job tasks. 

  • Reaching: Frequent reaching required to move parts from machine to tubs 

  • Handling: Continuous handling of piece parts ranging in size from 1lb. to 25 lbs. along with a variety of hand tools.
