We have an exciting opportunity for a Buyer to join our product team at Oak Furnitureland. The product team handles every part of the product development process, from trend forecasting and initial design conception, to liaising with sourcing teams in the Far East and Europe and reviewing prototypes. We are looking for someone who is commercially focussed and has previous experience of working with suppliers in both thr Far East suppliers and Europe, has existing furniture buying or Homewares experience. A d etermination to work hard and deliver results and be part of our growth is critical
The ideal candidate will have the ability to manage the critical path within the commercial team by building strong relationships with in-house teams and the sourcing team in the Far East. They will be good negotiator and be able to manage product development and have the ability to find the best product for the best price, from reliable vendors.

Essential Skills
Expedite purchase orders
Delivery of buying plans and sourcing strategies.
Support the wider procurement teams in supplier relationship management.
Support the key business areas such as Marketing/Retail/Visual Merchandising & Ecommerce with product information & launch dates.
Attend trade fairs in both the UK & Europe and be able to travel internationally
Working with various development teams to support procurement and implement new product development projects
Reviewing approved prototype/development supplier list and identify risks/requirements
Determining material and part requirements and shortages
Happy to travel to various stores across the country and travel to Swindon offices 2/3 times a week
Confident working remotely
Willing to travel to see suppliers across the country
Good analytical skills
The ability to work under pressure
Excellent commercial awareness
Good communication skills (written and verbal)
Confidence and presentation skills
Experience in procurement, buying
Experience of working with large data sets
Proficient in all Microsoft packages
Advanced in Microsoft Excel
