Description

Tricycle are always looking to connect with smart and talented designers who might be able to fit into our dynamic design team. We work hard at creating a collaborative environment where our staff can work on a diverse variety of projects. Tricycle believe a good work life balance is key to driving great outcomes and providing flexible working hours for our staff.

At Tricycle Developments

We believe the best outcomes come from merging strategic design with proven engineering analysis and testing. We thrive in variety, and approach every new client and project as a unique challenge. Our portfolio ranges from consumer goods and industrial equipment, to hi-tech electronic devices and medical instruments.

We’re looking to grow the Trike team and build our capabilities and talent. There’s about 20 of us working between our Melbourne studio, workshop and homes. We may not be the biggest, but pride ourselves on our strong and talented team of designers and engineers. Trike’s culture has an emphasis on in-studio collaboration to create an agile and effective environment; this allows us to continuously produce the high quality results we take pride in. At Trike, we try to remove some of the murky areas of design, creating meaningful and intentional design with tangible results for our clients and consumers.

Technical Product Design Engineer
You at Trike

You’re a technical designer who has experience in taking products from concept to production. You can detail parts and problem solve by visualising in 3D, using CAD, sketching or other tools as necessary. It’s second nature for you to think about assembly and production of components whilst looking at a concept or part. As a technical designer at Trike, you’ll be producing product concepts and delivering the product all the way through to the production phase.

You have diverse and long term experience in the practice of product design and manufacturing. You are adept and confident in your skills within Solidworks and producing engineering drawings; and can use the Adobe suite, Keyshot or sketching to present your concepts. You’re able to identify the tricky areas of a product and work through your design challenges with proof of concept tests and prototypes. You are proactive with your work approach and have a good understanding of the components and tasks involved for taking a product idea from concept to production. As part of the Trike team, you seek advice and collaborate with your peers often, and actively look to support the team whilst managing your own time and priorities.
