DevOps Engineer
Apex Systems is a global IT services provider, and our staffing practice has an opening for a DevOps Engineer with a strong continuous cloud deployment background, knowledge of infrastructure as code, and experience developing in Bash, Python, or NodeJS to place at our client, a Big Five Bank.
Client: Big Five Bank
Terms: 6-month contract to hire.
Location: Currently 100% Remote, Canada-wide.

Job Description:
The DevOps Engineer will be dedicated to improving the reliability of end-to-end platform.
Collaborate with Software Engineering teams. Bring the DevOps approach for Availability, Reliability, Scalability, Disaster Recovery, Problem/Incident Management, and Performance of production services.
Identify and contribute to solutions for improving service defensiveness, reducing services outages, reducing alert noise, improving monitoring, and helping our services reach Service Level Objectives (SLOs).
Key Qualifications:
Cloud Technology Experience.
3+ years of experience in Continuous Deployment (concourse/ GitHub Actions/ Spinnaker/ etc.)
Experience in Infrastructure as code (Terraform, CDK or Cloud formation).
Strong in Source control (Bitbucket, Github, Gitlab, etc.)
2+ years Metrics & Tracing
Options include (Dynatrace/ Jaeger / OpenTelemetry/ OpenTracing/ CloudWatch/ XRay).
Strong experience on Log analysis with ELK/ OpenSearch and Dynatrace.
Experience in ServiceNow correlations and alerting is a plus.
Development experience in Bash and or python or nodejs
Soft Skills:
Proactive and strong ability to learn new things with limited guidance.
Excellent communication & Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team and with cross-functional technical and business teams.
A curious attitude that is interested in knowing why things work the way they do and using that information to improve and enhance.
Interview Process: Interviews will occur within two weeks and consist of two rounds.
