Your new companyHays Social Care are working with a Charitable Organisation in Belfast who help the vulnerable, transform lives and who have been at the heart of the community for over 150 years - allowing each person to find their purpose and experience a sense of community.Your new roleAs Specialist Support Worker you will be critical to providing an enhanced level of service to vulnerable clients, which promotes client choice and control and ensures they learn new skills and make positive choices to achieve the best possible outcome. You will take a lead in service development in the specialised area including supporting other staff in their area of work. You will regularly update on your specialised area and provide recommendations for ongoing service improvements. You will design and deliver a range of in-house support provision which clients can opt into - promoting individual choice and help to achieve successful outcomes for clients. As the Specialist Support Worker, you will lead complex cases in your specialist area or where specialist knowledge is required and where appropriate, complete and review client assessments. As a Specialist Team lead, you will proactively pursue your own personal development of your specialist area, ensuring you are fully up to date with current good practice, legislation, service delivery and policy in the field. As well as this, you will support and develop Support Workers / Assistant Support Workers in their professional development and work with their clients. This will include training, mentoring and monitoring of interventions with clients.What you'll need to succeedTo succeed in this position you will need to be NISCC registered, open to night time work, have specialist knowledge and experience in the required field with experience of this to successfully support it, the ability to plan, design, deliver and evaluate a specialist client focussed service, up to date knowledge of government policy governing homelessness and key support pathways.
