Teaching Assistant with previous medical administer experience Hays Education is working in partnership with a large city centre primary school to recruit a qualified Teaching Assistant to support the medical needs of a pupil in KS2.The successful Teaching Assistant will be responsible for taking blood tests for the pupils, and administering insulin. When you are not needed to support the pupil, then you will take on general Teaching Assistant responsibilities within the Year 1 classroom.The head teacher is looking to appoint a Level 3 Qualified Teaching Assistant, who has prior experience of dealing with diabetic pupils and administering insulin. Prior experience of providing medical support to pupils is essential, as your Teaching Assistant responsibilities will include taking twice daily blood tests; administering insulin correctly; taking care of the medical equipment that the pupils bring to school; The class teacher, parents and nurses of the pupils work as a close team, so you will be expected to liaise well with all parties regarding pupil care. The successful Teaching Assistant will also be expected to support the class teacher within the class throughout the day, so you will also have up to date knowledge of the Key Stage 1 curriculum.For the successful Teaching Assistant, appointment to this post will depend on Hays Education obtaining relevant satisfactory references and completing an enhanced CRB check.
