JOB DESCRIPTION: Sales Manager / Sales Engineer - Special Purpose Machinery – FMCG – capital equipment
We need your help to grow. We will look for you to help diversify our sales into our existing client base and open new sales opportunities and channels for us too. We have a strong machinery portfolio already. A lot of new our sales enquiries will be a blank canvas.
With an existing Global customer base ranging from small start-up manufacturers - through to blue chip multi-nationals - you will need to be able and willing to travel Domestically and within Europe, Asia & the USA. You might need to be quite reactive in your customer visits too.
Our individual sales order value varies from £10,000 - £500,000. We currently turnover about £3m per annum.
As an experienced Sales Manager / Territory / Sales Engineer you’ll have a strong technical / engineering background selling automated and/or semi-automated special purpose machinery / capital equipment into manufacturers. We are reasonably open on your background when it comes to this.
Initially this will be a standalone role – but in time you will be given the autonomy to recruit and develop a team below you.

·Drive customer sales to end users within manufacturing·Develop a network of global agents and distributors – there is some existing infrastructure for you to build from·Help us develop our website, sales documentation, and social media presence – you can help to bring us into the 21st Century·Manage our sales advertising and marketing budget – to be discussed with the Managing Director
YOUR BACKGROUND: Sales Manager / Sales Engineer - Special Purpose Machinery – FMCG – capital equipment
·You will have a proven background selling special purpose machinery / automated capital equipment into manufacturers – directly or via distributors·You will likely be an Engineer – but you might be technical enough through your sales / applications-based background to be successful in this role·You will be used to traveling for work as we’d expect you to travel Globally 10-20% per annum

We are a well-established manufacturer of special purpose machinery in Bedford. This is a brand-new role with the intention of taking the business to the next level. With your help we are looking to develop our product offering and client base.
Ideally you will take on a strategic sales role from the off, which will give you a direct route to Directorship here with us. If you’re not the finished article we still want to hear from you if you could one day, be in that role.
