About the role
We are currently looking to hire a casual Occupational Therapy Assistant.he Therapy Assistant position provides quality client-focused care following initial prescription and training by the Occupational Therapist.he allied health assistant assists in supporting clients throughout the intervention process; ensuring a holistic approach to the client, their family and carers.he successful applicant will work with a variety of people with mental and/or physical disabilities.e work with clients at their place of preference, whether this is in their home, workplace or other preferred .o wever, office space can be made available at Our Mindful Important Company when required.r>
Qualifications and requirements
Must have
Minimum Certificate IV Allied Health Assistant or equivalent as 3rd or 4th Year Allied Health Student
Holds a current Victorian Drivers Licence, National Police History Check, and Working With Children Check
Has excellent verbal and written communication skills
Has intermediate knowledge of mental illnesses, cognitive disorders and neurological disorders, and their impact on a client's function
Has a willingness to extend knowledge of common client diagnosis
Is capable of working alone, directly with an Allied Health Professional, or in teams whilst following a prescribed Occupational Therapy program
Accurately documents client progress and maintains documents as required
Demonstrates a capacity to work flexibly across a broad range of therapeutic and program related activities
Holds Allied Health Practitioner's insurance, including professional indemnity and public liability cover this can be obtained with support from Our Mindful Important Company following a successful interview.r>
Knowledge and experience
Has an understanding of what it means to deliver a high level client centred care.emonstrates skills in providing this level of care.r>
Has a familiarity with both mental health and disability services
