DescriptionWORKING RELATIONSHIPSThe position reports to the IT Infrastructure Architect Team Leader and is based in Cape Town. Other working relationships include all members of the IT team, all users worldwide and external suppliers.Key ResponsibilitiesOVERALL PURPOSEThe overall purpose of this position is to:Follow and recommend best practices to safeguard the integrity and security of all our IT SystemsMaintain Operating Systems, Business Applications and Technical Components up to dateDevelop and optimize patching process to ensure proper outage-free implementationClosely collaborate with IT Security to score patches based on risks and likelihoodCoordinate patch schedules with IT colleagues and key business stakeholdersFast and thorough testing of patches in non-production environment to assess risk of outagesDevelop and implement packaging of software and corrective KB from multiple vendorsAssess pre-patch risks to avoid outages and troubleshoot issues arising post-patchDesign and maintain the patching program, including technical patching and packaging proceduresCollaborate to key projects and support the IT Infrastructure and IT Security teamsWork closely with IT and business stakeholders to balance between business and patch impactManage work and priorities through ticketing systemWork closely with other team members to address customer requestsCreate Visio documentations, write standard operation procedures and knowledge articlesParticipate to out-of-business hours infrastructure maintenance and support for incidentsQUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE1 - 3 Years of industry related experienceMicrosoft MCSA or MCSE certifications highly valuedExperience with Citrix products is beneficial for the role SKILLSEnglish at business levelExcellent knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10 and Windows ServerExcellent knowledge of Microsoft SCCM, WSUS, Endpoint Manager and other patching toolsGood knowledge of software distribution and Group Policy ObjectsGood knowledge of Active Directory, Exchange and common enterprise ecosystemExcellent knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, NTFS permissions and RBACKnowledge of Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktop Scripting abilities and interest for automationWillingness to learn new technologies at a fast pace in a constantly evolving environmentFlexibility, well developed sense of organization and personal responsibilityGeneral knowledge of Cyber Security, Networks, Firewalls and Linux and TCP/IP networkingCOMPETENCIES AND BEHAVIOURSStrong interests for secure and up to date infrastructuresHighly organized and able to coordinate with other team membersProven analytical and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to effectively prioritise and execute tasksUnderstands & satisfies client needsTakes prompt actions & sees tasks through to completionAbility to design and draft creative and cost-effective solutionsOpen to compare notes with colleagues and to change own ideas for new optionsEducation LevelVocationalExperience LevelJuniorBenefits
