About the Job

* Oversee day to day operations of the Lillehei Heart Institute (LHI) FACS core facility. Efficiently manage the LHI FACS core consisting of multiple FACS machines utilized by several labs and collaborators.
* Manage the instrument schedule. Routine maintenance of FACS equipment and coordinate repair when indicated.
* Train FACS users with FACS analysis and instrument operation so that users are able to operate instruments independently. Assist users with instrument trouble-shooting when necessary.
* Coordinate with clinical staff and get involved with human clinical studies. Perform FACS analysis of clinical samples. Analyze and discuss the results with project supervisor and collaborators.

This is a 75% FTE position.


Required Qualifications:

Advanced degree with 1 or more years of research training

Preferred Qualifications:

* Minimum of 1-3 years working directly with FACS. 3+ years preferred. -PhD preferred. -Experience operating FACS equipment and knowledge of mechanics and science of experiments using FACS analysis required. Strong independent problem solving and trouble shooting skills required.
