About the Role:

We are a confectionery company founded 20+ years. Our Plant has been in operation for 16 years based in Walkerville. We are looking for a highly skilled person able to work in a fast-growing environment in an organised, intelligent way. Most importantly, we are looking for a person who is enthusiastic to be part of the Walkerville Plant team. The Production Planner forms part of teh Plant Leadership team and supports all planning related activities with direct involvement on industrial levers for Plant. He/she works in coordination with Region / Central Planning teams and supports the Plant management team on day to day basis. 

Main Responsibilities:

BUDGETING Supports the Central Planning in the yearly budget definition
PRODUCTION PLANNING • Develops and manages tools for production planning. • Assures the production plans setting (material, personnel, machinery), based on inputs coming from Central Planning (FTL). • Based on information received by the Central Planning, sets local medium-term production plans for the productions lines based on central long term production plans. • Assures the arrangement of short term production plans (weekly programs) for the productions lines, providing related changes and adjustments, keeping a global view on yearly production plans.
PRODUCTION AND STORAGE MANAGEMENT • Manages semi-finished goods production and related storage. • Establishes and shares with co-packer (if any) the production scheduling related to the single co-packer, in order to guarantee the achievement of the defined overall production level.
OBSOLESCENCE MANAGEMENT • provides operation support to identify materials obsolescence, in accordance to group guidelines. • Manages obsolescence based on group guidelines and following possible instruction coming from the central level.
PRODUCTION SIZING • Defines production staff sizing (increase/decrease), in order to assure the best solution to cost-flexibility trade off, in compliance with the defined production budget. Optimizes the use of production assets (machinery, material, personnel), particularly by assuring the best use of available personnel
PLANT SUPPLY • Manages stock level for packaging, surprises, raw materials and semi-finished goods. • Keeps contact with Central Material Management in order to update plant demand. • Provides information to the local and the central level, on issues that could affect manufacturing schedule fulfillment/respect.
NON-CONFORMITIES MANAGEMENT • Provides support to AQS and DQG in managing non conformities.
RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT • Is informed and gives his active support in feasibility studies related to new packaging, products and production lines (regarding scheduling needs)
HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT • Develops and guarantees the implementation of a forward-looking personnel development strategy based on personal motivation, competence and potential development. • Manages its own collaborators, in compliance with group guidelines, assuring an efficient process structure/organization. • Assures a career development planning for collaborators

Who we are looking for:

Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business management, or related field is preferred • Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) accreditation or other relevant certification is advantageous. • Proven experience working as a production planner and scheduling in a manufacturing environment - minimum 5 years previous production planning . Other Skills: • SAP would be advantageous • Strong MS Office - Computer Skills . Excellent knowledge of Excel a must • Sound knowledge of material requirements planning (MRP) and related software. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Excellent organizational and time management skills. • Effective communication skills • Other: • Required to work overtime and/or weekends when required. • Valid driver’s license and own transport
