The Nokia Standards team is leading the Open RAN transformation, helping to enable a more competitive and vibrant ecosystem. We drive and shape the O-RAN ALLIANCE and 3GPP specification work. Our objective is to enable AI/ML-empowered, cloud-based, intelligent, open and secured RAN - with fit-for-purpose RAN programmability. Furthermore, we strive to open the RAN for innovation, leveraging the "as a Service" paradigm.

What you will learn and contribute to

To further strengthen our leadership in RAN management and intelligen controller, we look for a lead standardization specialist expert that will help driving our standardization work in O-RAN ALLIANCE and 3GPP SA5 on RAN management and intelligent programmability.

The job includes the execution of a standardization strategy for these activities, and creation of concepts that are consistent and aligned with Nokia internal stakeholders. You will need to drive and defend the Nokia's preferred solutions in O-RAN and/or 3GPP SA5. Interaction with customers and competitors and other participants in O-these organizations is inherent part of the job. You also have the opportunity to build up robust intellectual property assets for Nokia.

As part of our team, you will:

* Be part of the Nokia delegations in the O-RAN ALLIANCE and/or 3GPP SA5; as appropriate, take up leadership roles in the standardization process.
* Drive and defend the Nokia's preferred solutions in the O-RAN ALLIANCE and/or 3GPP SA5. You will have to create contributions and review others' contributions to the O-RAN meeting, in line with the related Nokia strategies and view of our internal stakeholders.
* Create outside-in insight; recommend on the best course of action
* Create technical concepts
* Protect the generated intellectual property by patents, contribute to the implementation of patents in standards, review of inventions from others.
* Engage with customers and other ecosystem partners as part of the standardization process.

Your skills and experience

You have:

* Strong understanding of 5G Networks and their management and intelligent controller (e.g. SON, RAN Intelligent Controller), and 7 or more years of experience with research and standardization of these technologies. Experience with 3GPP SA5, O-RAN, ETSI ISG ZSM specifications is an advantage.
* MSc degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline. A PhD is a plus.
* Excellent communication and presentation skill



It would be nice if you also had:

* Very strong analytical skills and eager to find innovative/disruptive solutions to problems; a strong experience in patent creation
* Ability and willingness to work in a multi-cultural context and negotiate results on technical matters
* Track record of publications
* Works well in teams, but also have the ability to work autonomously on complex technical problems
