Group/Division

With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design, KLA's Global Products Group (GPG), which is responsible for creating all of KLA's metrology and inspection products, is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers. The RAPID division is the world leading provider of reticle inspection solutions for the semiconductor industry. The company provides inspection solutions to both the mask shops and the semiconductor fabs to ensure that lithography yields are consistently high thus enabling cost-effective manufacturing.

* Manage a team of individual systems engineering contributors that range from very senior to entry-level experience individuals.
* Drive the organization and planning aspects related to the functional group.
* Manage the interface and priority of activities of joint efforts with other functional teams.
* Communicate progress and escalate problem areas early and proactively.
* Mentor, support and provide guidance to the team members.
* Where needed drive specific high-priority activities directly. (Attitude of "Just do it and perform CPR when the patient is dying"; "I was waiting for X and Y to happen" is not accepted)


* Take on assignment and actions from the program PLC team and be and active stake holder in the management team of the program.

Minimum Qualifications

* PhD in Physics, EE or in related field, plus 7 years of experience industry, or,
* Master's in physics, EE or related field plus 10 years of experience in industry


* Proven track record of successful ownership in advanced technical problem solving. This includes managing projects beyond the extent of an mere individual contributor's reach. Proven ability to coordinate stakeholders and priorities for solving assignments or problems that require multiple contributors.
* Good organizational and communication skills.
* Strong familiarity with electron beam systems, vacuum instrumentation or other related complex hardware systems is strongly desirable. Examples include semiconductor capital equipment or hardware related to space or aeronautics.
* Familiarity with the flow of product life cycle engineering phases is a plus.
* Prior managing or team lead experience is a plus.
