POSITION DESCRIPTION 

The AWU National Office is seeking a Permanent Part Time Call Centre Operator based in our National Office, located at Granville NSW.

The AWU National Contact Centre contacts members who have become un-financial and assists our industrial teams with industry campaign calling. This is an essential role for our union and you will be working as part of a dynamic team.

The Outbound Contact Centre Operator position is a Permanent Part Time position working 30 hours per week.

Essential

  • Previous call centre experience or similar customer service experience.
  • Demonstrated ability and knowledge in recruitment conversations
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and deal with sensitive and difficult matters in a diplomatic manner
  • Competent and proficient in data entry
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team and under limited supervision.
  • Attention to detail
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work during both the day and evenings Mon - Fri
  • Desired

  • Experience within a Trade Unions or Not for Profit Organisations
  • Awareness of Trade Unions, campaigns and issues affecting workers
  • Previous experience working with membership-based software platforms
  • Key Duties

  • Conduct calls to un-financial members
  • Recruit and retain union members
