The Role:

We are looking for experienced and enthusiastic RF Engineers who would like to join our team in this specialised industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, development and prototyping of new RF & microwave components and subsystems or the modification of existing products
RF line-up budget calculations, modeling and simulations of RF & microwave circuits using software packages used by L3 Micreo
Perform part stress analysis and reliability predictions
Documentation of product design either directly or through supervision of contractors or drawing office staff as appropriate using drawing software packages used by L3 Micreo, such as Draftsight
Qualification testing of new products, including EMI/EMC
Selection and management of subcontractors for:
• Microwave substrate manufacture
• Specialised RF component manufacture (to L3 Micreo specification)
• Creation of part numbers in ERP system including required procurement information
Ability to generate a bill of materials for entry into the ERP system
Work with Procurement to source and procure parts required for prototypes/production
Ability to participate in generation of formal quotations
Ability to deal with customers and present design details during review
Review project schedules and meet financial and time constraints
Participate in internal company process e.g. non-conformance reports, failure reports
Take part in manufacture and test of modules when exceptional manufacturing work load requires this
Provide Engineering support to manufacturing as required
Participate in R&D meetings to evaluate new technical opportunities and contribute to company strategic direction
Maintain a focus on producing quality products and either recommend enhancements which will promote customer satisfaction or cost reductions
Recommend enhancements from time to time to the company’s actions in achieving outstanding customer satisfaction

Experience and Skills:

• Degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering
2+ years’ experience in similar role
Experience with RF modelling and simulation software packages such as SFilSyn and Microwave Office for RF line-up budget calculations, modelling and simulation of RF & microwave circuits
Experience with software, such as Empire or equivalent, for modelling 3D electromagnetic structures
Experience with a drawing software package such as Autocad or Draftsight
Ability to work independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team
Excellent computer skills
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely to internal and external parties
Accuracy, thoroughness, persistence and attention to detail
Experience with a production environment
Outstanding time management skills
Ability to lead small design team
Effective delegation skills

Security Requirements

Candidates will be required to obtain and maintain an Australian Government security clearance as a condition of their employment.

Candidates will only be considered for a position at L3 Harris Technologies if they are eligible to hold a security clearance.

A NEGATIVE VETTING LEVEL ONE (NV1) ( NV2 would be desirable) security clearance is required for this position. Candidates must be an Australian citizen and have a checkable background of at least 10 years. A current NV1 security clearance is highly desirable.
