Position Summary

The primary role of the Product Solution Designer is to take marketing/business requirements and translate them into cost effective technical, functional, and operational design specifications (with cost and schedule associated) and work/negotiate with Vendor to deliver the solutions all the way through into post go-live.

This role reports into the Solution Designer Lead and will be responsible for new development and enhancements to products within the respective domain, ensuring their end-to-end operability in accordance with SingTel/Optus IT’s strategic standards with essential quality in place via proper deliverables, review & acceptance testing.

Key Responsibilities

Platform, Development & Domain Framework
High Level Impact Assessment on Business initiatives
Requirement gathering and converting them into IT solution.
Deliver projects on time on budget for a wide range of business unit’s
Measures: Contribute to End Customer User Experience Scores Enable bottom line revenue for business units via new technology implementation
Improve Internal Customer Satisfaction Scores
Reduction of operating costs for the business.
Program / Project Delivery
Provide product & application solutions, as well as design for changes within the IT domain to agreed timelines and budget
Deliver exceptional customer experience to Optus Customers via the platform and its enhancements, Contribute to the Customer Experience, Revenue and Acquisition Targets.
Work with all levels of Business units in understanding business problems and initiatives
Perform consultancy and advise of solution options for Business problems.
Work closely with different technical groups and SME’s to fulfil e2e solution objective
Engage vendors (local and offshore), negotiating solution costs and ensuring quality control over their deliverables
Strong presentation skills to senior management and Business units
Select likely products and components to fill solution requirements
Negotiate with the stakeholders to achieve optimum solution from architecture, overall quality, and delivery timelines perspective.
Ensure solutions conform to the strategic domain roadmap and adhere to the standards set by the Solution Review Board and Enterprise architects
Ability to influence others and drive decisions in a highly dynamic and customer focused environment.
Work autonomously

Experience and Qualifications

 Degree in computer / IT field and/or minimum 4+ year’s equivalent industry experience.
Telecommunications/ Internet/ eCommerce experience
Practical experience in 4 or more areas:

o Mobile products

o Telephony products

o Product & Knowledge Portal

o Order provisioning

o Online & offline rating

o Billing & invoicing

• Experience in project delivery

• Business requirements analysis and capture

• product development and product lifecycle processes

• Product modelling

• Experienced in a technical area in the following:

oDatabase Query (PL/SQL; my SQL; MS SQL)

oAmdocs Billing system (MEC,EPC, RLC,OMS)

• Experiencing in managing vendors

• Ability to work under pressure and manage numerous tasks

• Demonstrated experience presenting and communication to senior stakeholders

• Ability to solve problems quickly and creatively and communicate relevant stakeholders

• Attention to detail

• Flexibility to handle changing priorities

• Proven record of continuous improvement
