Role Summary

The technical Lead is expected to actively engage in sharing knowledge and building technical capability. They will be proactive in overseeing the deployment of our capability to successfully deliver our projects, enhance our reputation and drive technical quality.

 

Responsibilities

Responsibilities that fall under the Technical Lead role are:

·        Overview of technical capability and skills within the team

·        Oversee deployment of technical capability within the team (the right technical skills on the

right projects)

·        Operate a framework for assurance of technical performance and quality within the team

(quality of deliverables)

·        Overview of technical input for complex projects

·        Initiating reviews to mitigate and control technical project risk

·        Coordination of technical software needs within the team

·        Active participation and promotion of technical knowledge sharing and dissemination

·        Succession planning for technical capability and leadership

·        Promote training and professional development

·        Input to technical training programmes

·        Support the development and delivery of the Technical Leadership Team strategy,

programmes and projects

·        Liaison with Head of Discipline, Technical Sector Representatives and other Technical Leads

·        Liaison with the bridges Technical Working Group

Qualifications and Mandatory Skills

·        The following qualifications are desirable however candidates will be assessed on the basis of

experience and behavioural attributes:

·        Educated to degree level or higher

·        Professional Chartership with the relevant body or equivalents like IStructE or ICE

·        Proven working knowledge of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) and Manual

of Contract Documents for Highway Works (MCDHW) in relation to structural schemes

·        Experience of Grillage, Space Frame and FEM analysis software packages like LUSAS, MIDAS

etc.

·        Effective communication, client handling and interpersonal skills are essential

·        Experience in design or assessment of steel reinforced and pre-stressed concrete structures

as per Euro and BS codes.

 

 

Qualifications

·        Chartered Engineering with the relevant body or equivalents like IStructE or ICE

·        M. Tech/M.E/B. Tech/B.E. (Civil/Structural) 

·        15 years of experience
