Job description

Job Description: Under the supervision of the Regional Director, the Early Interventionist provides expertise and early intervention instruction to children and families enrolled in the California Early Start Program for the San Diego Regional Center.

Duties and Responsibilities: Perform Early Intervention Services with a caseload of children and their families, following Stars Infant Program Procedures. Ensures compliance with regulations and timelines and in all aspects if services including, but not limited to the following:

  • Implementation of goals and objectives on IFSP (Individualized Family Services Plan) in a variety of community settings, utilizing developmentally appropriate and effective practices.
  • Appropriately administer and score using developmental assessment tools
  • Complete a Progress Report in a timely manner of every caseload responsible for
  • Maintain accurate paperwork documentation and records of client files.
  • Demonstration of a family-centered philosophy, and respect for cultural diversity
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings, training and in-services for Stars Infant Program.
  • Demonstrate computer literacy to be self-sufficient in basic computer software such as: word, excel, PowerPoint as well as writing, finding, saving and printing documents such as progress reports.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA policies.
  • Complete administrative paperwork in a timely manner and by due date including, but not limited to: monthly schedules; calculate weekly and monthly visits as well as travel expenses
  • Assists parents in addressing developmental and behavioral concerns of children by interpreting treatment goals and creating activities following learning plans.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A.A. or B.A. degree in Education, Psychology, Child Development or related field preferred but not required
  • 1 year of experience in related field preferred
  • California Driver's License
  • Proof of car insurance in employee's name and current address
  • CPR (adult, child, infant, AED) & First Aid certified preferred but not required
  • Must be willing to submit driver's license and fingerprints for background check
  • Must be willing to submit verification of legal rights to work in the U.S. upon hire

Pay Range: $17-23 DOE

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $23.00 per hour
