About the Role
The role is in the Mining and Metals group and will be involved in the Civil design and development of mining projects, including concept sketches and layouts.
The use of engineering computer programs (CivilCAD, 12d or OpenRoads) and solutions to generate civil earthworks designs and 3D models for inclusion in multidiscipline projects will be required.
The role also involves the preparation of design calculations and the development of specifications.
There is potential that the role may involve the preparation or reviews of engineering studies and reports.
The successful candidate may be required to also review and check designs, drawings, and data prepared by contractors external to the Bechtel organisation. They may also be required to review design documents of equipment manufacturers or from subcontractors of a moderate degree of complexity and subsequently prepare comments and recommendations to be returned to those suppliers. They may also be required to prepare letters for replies to vendor correspondence. They may also be asked to assist in the preparation of forecasts, quantity take-offs, and change orders. A high degree of capability in oral and written communication skills will be required.
 

 

About You
Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or University with at least 5 years experience as civil engineer.
Candidates must currently possess the eligibility to work and remain in Australia without visa sponsorship.
Able to be registered as an RPEQ, or already registered as RPEQ is preferrable.
