The Opportunity

GHD’s is currently seeking applications for Entry Level Drafter/Designer  to join our South Australia Water business. This is a rare opportunity to kick-start your drafting/design career with a diverse organisation, dedicated to the development of our people and their careers.

We have opportunities available for:

Cadets  – Currently studying an Associate Degree / Advanced Diploma in Engineering – Technical (Plumbing/Civil or equivalent)
Graduates  – Recently completed or nearing completion (2021/2022) of Associate Degree/Advanced Diploma in Engineering - Technical (Plumbing/Civil or equivalent)

Under direct supervision, you will learn drafting and design skills across the breadth of the water sector and will become competent in the use of Civil3D & AutoCAD and gain experience in other design software such as Plant3D.

Key responsibilities of this position includes:

Assisting in the preparation of 3D models and 2D drawings using Civil3D, Plant3D & AutoCAD software
Collaborating with team members on various technical tasks and taking guidance in support of your role
Developing your knowledge of GHD's Corporate Drafting Manual and other relevant systems, tools and processes
Attending TAFE or University and maintaining requirements of a Cadetship, which will include a combination of work-based training and formal training

What you will bring to the role:

TAFE (or equivalent) completion with strong academic results
Experience in Civil3D & AutoCAD desirable but not essential
Strong desire to build a rewarding career as a professional drafter/designer
Well-developed communication skills and a proven attention to detail
Intermediate computer skills coupled with a positive attitude and a desire to learn
Genuine interest in technical drawing and engineering
