Cold Store Supervisor – Food Industry

A new opportunity has become available for a Cold Store Supervisor.This position will be responsible to execute the Cold Store operations plan, supervise the Cold Store day to day operations, health and safety by investing in own person development.Requirements: Grade 12NQF Level 5 certificate in Supply Chain and/or Distribution Logistics and/or Commerce3+ years experience in a Supervisory role or similar within the Food Industry/and or Cold Storage IndustryRequired to work in Sub-Zero temperaturesWorking long hours and weekendsWorking at very high heightsRequired to handle high volume of bulk and item pickingClear criminal record Knowledge: Understanding of the Health and Safety ActBasic technical understanding of equipment (material handling)Knowledge of hazardous materials spills such as oil, acid and product spillsKnowledge of proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials in accordance with DAFF regulationsUnderstanding of cold chain process and procedure requirementsBasic technical understanding of equipment (material handling)Understanding of mobile racking operating functionsUnderstanding of basic maintenanceUnderstanding of Warehouse and Food Safety Management Systems Skills: Supervisory and Leadership skillsReporting skillsMS Office on a basic levelHeavy Movement Equipment MaintenanceInventory controls and proper stock management skillsPicking system and procedure experienceSafety Management skillsKeep focused under pressurized situations
