Omron Robotics and Safety Technologies Division wants you to join us as a Supplier Quality Engineer who will play an active part in improving the design of these revolutionary robots.


In this role, you will be working with Design Engineers, Manufacturing and our valued suppliers to improve product quality and reliability. This role is based in our Pleasanton, CA facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with strategic partners and suppliers to develop quality processes and outgoing supplier quality programs.
  • Lead supplier audits to drive process improvements and compliance to QMS/EHS and EMS.
  • Leads and facilitate failure investigations and implement 8D preventive actions with internal and external teams.
  • Work with suppliers on design for quality and manufacturing to improve product quality and delivery.
  • Develop quality plans, test requirements and assess supplier process capabilities from initial design to launch.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce inspection based on risk and quality trends.


Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Masters in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial) or equivalent.
  • 3+ years’ experience in quality assurance of complex electromechanical systems
  • Demonstrable knowledge of 8D, risk assessments, design and process FMEA
  • Excellent analytical abilities, technical writing ability, and comprehensive understanding of quality toolbox (ISO9001, SPC, DOE, GD&T, etc.)
  • Experience as internal ISO 9001 auditor, and knowledge of CMM machine.
