Structural Engineer II or III

Celtic Engineering, Inc. (, a leading structural and mechanical engineering consulting firm in the Entertainment/Hospitality and Aerospace Industries, is looking for qualified individuals for its Windermere office.

Exciting projects worldwide include ride design, show design, dynamic structures, themed structures, complex static iconic structures, and complex static and dynamic aerospace structures. This position requires clear and concise communication skills to work closely as a team with both structural engineers and machine-design mechanical engineers solving complex problems and unique designs.

Celtic Engineering, Inc is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to execute and oversee detailed analysis and design of structural systems associated with traditional building design as well as amusement industry theme park structures and figures along with aerospace structures. In this role, you assist senior project managers and Upper Management with: developing work plans, supporting the development of engineering proposals, tracking status your budget, tracking status of project tasks, and organizing the project team. You will provide support for various entertainment & hospitality multi-family industry clients and aerospace industry clients to solve intermediate engineering problems.

A successful candidate for this position will: plan and execute work with increasing levels of engineering responsibility, engineering creativity, flexibility/adaptability in project workflow, and requiring reduced levels of oversight. You are expected to work independently on tasks for which you are proficient. If not already achieved, a successful candidate will aggressively pursue passing of FE exam and PE exam. This position expects the engineer to continue developing engineering skills, and to proactively communicate with staff and management. This position expects the engineer to work with some oversight on tasks for which you are knowledgeable and experienced. When managing projects or assisting with project management, you will support more experienced managers and senior project managers to create proposals, plan and track budgets, establish and track schedules with earned value, interface with clients, provide support for meetings, and assist in implementing the quality control process with increasing levels of responsibility towards Project Management.

Requirements: At least a bachelor’s degree in civil/structural engineering, 3+ years’ experience minimum (5+ years preferred) with increasing levels of engineering responsibility in structural engineering design, analysis, & drawing production, and 1+ years’ experience preferred in a project management or project lead role. Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Structures is desirable but not required.

Knowledgeable skills required in engineering analysis and design of building structures, code compliant design experience in Florida/USA, static FEA (SAP2000, ETABS, RISA3D preferred), model & drawing production/management/ organization/ layout in BIM package, assist with organizing and participating in meetings with client interaction.

Experienced with multiple construction materials, layout and analysis/design of full-building gravity- & lateral-force-resisting systems, welded and bolted joints, structural construction drawings and structural specifications, foundations. Non-building structures, seismic design/ analysis/ detailing, structural dynamics, fatigue/vibrations design, earth retention structures, ability to interpret and design to other codes and standards from other regions both domestic and international a plus. PE licensure a plus.
