Data Protection team
The Data Protection team is responsible for enabling backup solution to firm wide applications with encrypted local disk backup facility along with Disaster recovery copy and long term storage capability. Team manages backup infrastructure stability, meet regulatory compliance requirements and maintain centralized backup reporting system to allow data owners to view the status of their backups and certify their backup policies for management reporting, regulatory compliance, and future audit activities.
Provides technical support to the firm and cross-functional teams, from strategic design to implementation of backup solution with in AWS inline to current standards and patterns. Deliver engineering practices, assist with functional specifications, and collaborate on technical design and specifications for projects and initiatives
Strong background in AWS/SRE is critical to success in this role, and experience in any other public cloud will be added advantage.
Implement backup solutions in cloud and work on critical, highly complex customer problems that will span multiple AWS services.
Security and compliance centric approach with understanding of security procedures and practices
Test functional and non-functional use cases for every integration solution
Track milestone progressions and provide status updates
Document the procedures, test cases and implement solutions for continuous data availability, integrity, backup and protection
Assist with architecture walk-throughs with senior management and peer teams
Qualification and Skills
BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
8+ years of Experience in Enterprise infrastructure and Backup & Recovery strategies
2+ years' experience in AWS solution architect
Experienced in implementing backup solutions in cloud
Deep domain expertise of AWS Backup, CPM Backup, IAM Policies, Roles, Cross Account roles.
Providing recommendations to optimize Backup Architecture.
Leading the AWS backup and CPM backup Solutions end to end.
In-depth understanding of AWS Cloud Services EFS, RDS, EC2 Dynamodb, FSX, RedShift, S3
Good understanding on Distributes tracing, logging and Telemetry.
Experience in any of programing languages - Go, Python, Ruby, Java
Hands on experience in Ansible, Chef or Puppet and Kubernetes
Good knowledge in distributed systems computing techniques
knowledge in application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines
Understanding of performance tuning, message integrity and security related to real-time applications
Ability to work in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals, and passionate about building an innovative culture
Proven organizational skills, decisive priority management, strong teamwork ethic, excellent verbal & written communication skills.
A SRE mind-set, with a strong focus on continuous improvement and ability to adopt tools and frameworks required to enhance application stability
Good Experience in SDLC lifecycle delivery experience using Jira, Confluence and Git Bitbucket
Advanced knowledge in the following key areas: Hardware Architecture (performance testing, monitoring, operations), Hardware Benchmarking (program management, network management), Design (compliance, security), Network Engineering (planning, provision)
Advanced understanding of business technology drivers and their impact on architecture design, performance and monitoring, best practices
