Bank Support Worker/Buddy - immediate start



£16.00-£18.00 per hour

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic female Bank Support Worker/Buddy based close to the Wallington area of Greater London to work with an 18-year-old female client.

The Support Worker/Buddy will make a positive contribution in the life of this happy and smiley young lady, encouraging her independence and helping to develop her confidence in day-to-day life, accessing the hobbies and interests she enjoys.

Rates of Pay

£16.00-£18.00 per hour, depending upon experience.

The Client

Our client has an acquired brain injury and requires a companion who will help her grow in confidence and self-esteem, offering guidance in social interaction, college attendance and safety awareness. She is an engaging and kind young lady who lives at home with her family and has a strong support network around her.

The Role

The successful candidate will work towards planned goals, manage risk and liaise with our Client’s family and other professionals. You should also be creative in planning age-appropriate activities both inside and outside her home, playing a pivotal role in helping her build a positive future whilst supporting her independence..

Our Client’s existing support network, made up of family, friends and a professional therapy team, is tailored to reflect the uniqueness of our Client and provide bespoke, person-centred care to give our Client the best quality of life possible. You will be expected to work and communicate closely with the Client’s family and therapy team and help implement therapy programmes which are in place.

The successful candidate will work flexibly in accordance with the needs of the client across Monday to Friday with some evenings, sleep in nights and occasional weekend hours required.

Person Specification

  • Must be female.
  • You will have an understanding, encouraging and enthusiastic nature.
  • You will ideally have experience within a similar role or in a psychology background.
  • You will have an interest in working with an individual with a Brain Injury and cognitive, social and developmental difficulties.
  • A driving licence is desired.
  • An Enhanced DBS disclosure is required.
